The Hydrostatic Guide - precision for the long run. Exclusively and with certainty no wear!

 

All Monforts CNC-machines have a unique characteristic in common; it is the maintenance- and wear-free longitudinal guiding system.

This hydrostatic main guide is free of any frictional contact  independent of the rate of traverse. Even increments of 0,001 mm are traversed without any stick-slip.

The hydrostatic guide prevents friction as the slide starts to move from standstill, ie. no friction - no stick-slip-effect. This is especially advantageous for smallest slide movements or short feed paths. The feed rates are between 0,01 and 0,05 mm/rev., depending on the material and hardness of the components. A further benefit is the oil film of 15 µm between the slide and the slideway. Definitely an advantage for interrupted cuts.

The high rigidity resists cutting loads. A rigidity of approx. 10000 N/µm applies to each oppositely positioned pair of pockets. These unique features ensure hard-turning with an outstanding dynamic stability. For hard-turning special emphasis is placed on “no play”, “high rigidity” and non existing “stick-slip-effect”. These characteristics, which determine the results of hard-turning, are guaranteed by the hydrostatic guide.
